Programs
Sound Beginnings is a family music class that prepares students for success in Let’s Play Music and Kindergarten. Classes include singing, movement, instrument play, nursery rhymes, games, stories, and ear training activities.
Let’s Play Music is a fun foundational music theory class for your child that begins at age 4 - 6. This three-year program solves the problem that a child is most ready to learn music at an early age, but their fingers and letter skills are not yet ready.
Who is Ms. Abigail?
Music has always been a part of my life from singing in the car with my family as a child to dancing to church and school choirs and playing piano starting at age 5. I have always loved music and the way it makes me feel. Once I started having my own children I wanted music for them too. I began looking for a program and with a teaching background knew I wanted something of substance, but that would be fun and encourage their natural love of music and rhythm. I found Let's Play Music and thought I'd just teach for a year or two; now almost a decade later it's become my job and passion.
I love teaching kids and seeing their joy in learning new concepts. I have taught young children in church and the community since I was a teenager; I even taught middle school math before starting my family. I am a native of Utah and have lived in San Diego since 2014.
When not teaching music I can be found cooking, reading, crafting, organizing, traveling, biking or running, and hanging out with my husband, Scott, and our four kids ages 8-13 (all of whom are Let's Play Music graduates and Sound Beginnings alumni) and our dog, Penny.
